Conclusion

Thank you guys for good and interesting presentations!!! I really enjoyed them and the whole course!!! I liked New Information Technologies course, because it gave me a lot of new, useful and interesting information connecting with my profession!! I hope we will continue working on our individual and group weblogs.!!!

Chikas

The first thing I want to say that Chikas weblog got its respect because of such a serious theame. Its really hard to observe and write articles about charity, homeless people, orphans, distressed people and homeless animals. I think that by this weblog they try to attract more people and make them to be more attentive to such problems. In my point of view its a good way.  The next thing that I liked is that every girl was writing about exact theame. For example Sanya was writing about orphans and homeless children, katherine was writing about homeless people and Natalya wrote about homeless animals.  Want to add that to almost  every article they put pictures, sometimes funny. So, my impressions are only good. girls made a good job!

Weblog devoted to Almaty sity

The 3rd presentation on wedsday was group with the weblog devoted to Almaty city, called Almaty.wordpress.com. I liked their presentation, because at first they told about useful information about weblogs. Everyone was participating in presentation. I always try to notice it, because when we say group presentation, we mean that everyone shoul speak in participate in process. Saying about their weblog, It is really good. At first I liked their slide show that included the most beautiful pictures of Almaty city, it is amasing. Second I liked categories that they made. Categories include galery, the most beautiful places and so on…

Any Human Color

Saying about presentation of Kairzhan and their weblog, I want to note, that this weblog is interesting by itself. The idea of comparing human beings and animals is interesting. Or connect humans with colors. Pictures are funny and connected with theame. Also, there are a lot of tests. As for me, I made two tests, but my results were different. But, one minus is that Kairzhan was presented alone without Ivan! Bu, both they are creative guys and in future, in profession of journalists it will be usseful!! Also, some addings: its good that Ivan was also presented and told us about his idea of connecting people and colors. it was useful and interesting.  

Taste of life

After listening of presentation of group #1, I want to say that I liked it. 1st of all because I received a new information about blogs and statistics. 2nd-their pictures were beautiful. 3rd is that everyone were speaking while presenatation. Everything was brief, understanding and clear, in spite they were presented 1st among groups. I really liked the name of their weblog “Taste of life”-it sounds good!

3. It is a group weblog, the authors of the posts are different, and all they have as their own names, as pseudonyms.

4. Information about authors is very interesting. All they are professional journalists and this blog is the part of their work. Their location is also different. For example one of them from Ekibastuz, another from Karagandy, one from Russia, etc. It is a big plus!!

5. The existence of this site began from May 2006. Articles are posted almost every day. Per week there are 5-6 articles.

6. The site allows users to comment the posts, but there are not so many of them.

7. The site provides RSS feed.

8. The community of this site is people from all over the world with different background, who are interested in writing articles and news about Central Asia and Caucasus. They are; students, journalists, analytics, politics, etc. The sources of the site are the Informational Centers of Kazakhstan: as TV channels, as newspapers, and International Informational Centers: radiao, newspapers, TV. First of all the authors consider important Kazakhstani sites and blogs. Also, Transition Online (TOL).

9. They try to observe the new from all spheres, such as politics, culture, sport, business, traveling and many-many others!!! Mostly news oriented.

10. Impressions are only good. Very interesting and useful site. In future will use it!!! I liked it because, first all it is participatory jpurnalism site, secondly, there observed news from all Central Asia and Caucasus in almost all spheres of life!!! Also, one plus is that site has a lot of partners and readable on different languages.

11. My observations: they try to develop this kind of journalism-participatory. Also, develop blogging in Kazakhstan and Central Asia, because nowadays it is very popular, especially in America and Europe. Blogging is the “selfpublication”, so in such way it can be found a lot of young, new, talented people!!!

Online Participatory Journalism

Found an interesting site in Kairzhan’s list of sites! Called friends.kz. For me this site is a good example of Online Participatory Journalism. It’s a site mostly oriented for youth, because the content of news do not contain information about politics, economy, and different serious theames. Entertaining is the main format. The site contains news about show business, sport, stars, etc. There are such sections as “anekdotes”, “strange”, “stories”, “auto”, “games”, “useful”, “articles”, “hot news”, “friends”. All information is published on Russian and English languages.

Moreover, the site has it’s own chat and option of sending messages. The thing that I liked is that users can log in and publish their own interesting stories and put funny photos (following by certain rules). There are the list of  best news and  best commentators. Also this site has RSS feed. And in my point of view, all of these options only add the pluses of the site as online participatory journalism!! 

Unfortunatly, I couldn’t find any information about authors, but there is written that it is non commercial site and everything is sitated, all information only to satisfy the curiosity of people.

So, as I could observe, there are a lot of regular customers on the site and many comments. As I said the community of the site is young people (teenagers)!!!

What about my impressions?? The site is good, many useful options.

About Wikipedia

A like this site! i think it is very usefull!!! Reading about Wikipedia project I learned a lot  of new for me. It’s an  open production model that have the following characteristics:

• Fewer barriers to participation in the production process (where visitors do not need specialised qualifications to contribute, so they can write articles that cover existing knowledge; this means that people of all ages and cultural and social background can write the Wikipedia articles).
• Access to materials produced is relatively unrestricted ( articles can be edited by anyone with access to the Internet, simply by clicking the edit this page link. Anyone is welcome to add information, cross-references or citations, of course it must be done with all Wikipedia editing policies).

So, I think that Wikipedia project is very credible, because when I get information, I am  sure that it is truthful, because of the including references, as unreferenced facts are subject to removal. And authoritive!! As I know nowadays almost every pupil and student use this site in order to get information!!!

Other opinions about community

Reading comments of other people about communities, I understood that there is a great amount of communities. For example, I liked how Kairzhan wrote about his best friend, neighbours and classmates communities. Also he mentioned about “sub-communities”, it’s interesting, I think!!!

Many people in the group said that they are a part of university organizations community, as I am. For example, Gulnara is a part of KIMEP TIMES community. Kamila, as I am in event agency crEAteam. It’s really cool, because everyone should be in different communities in order to communicate with different people, in order to interact and make connections and friends that have common interests and desires!!! I think that it’s very important!!
